AFSC in Pasadena is having a free event to update on the results from the recent G-8 conference and the impact on Debt in the Global economy. Featured are two speakers who can give updates on the G-8, Africa and how our spiritual values should guide our international policy. Dr. James Quilligan recently coordinated the educational support events for the Live 8 concert in Philadelphia in collaboration with the AFSC. He will share innovative thinking about sharing the world's resources. Brian Hooks, AFSC committee member and participant in the Africa Initiative Youth Exchange Program, will share about AFSC's Life Over Debt Campaign highlighting the need (and legal and honorable bases) for immediate cancellation of Africa's debt, and indeed that of all impoverished countries.
