Thursday, Jan. 26th
Thursday Jan 26, 2006 7-9pm
Coastal Convergence Society Video Night
Cherrywood Village Clubhouse, Huntington Beach
(see end of email for directions)
Welcome home to everyone that was away for the holidays.
I hope all is well. For our first video of the year, our main
offering will be the Errol Morris film "The Fog of War". The
Coastal Convergence Society is a group of people whose
main point of unity is social justice and peace. War disrupts
everything. War also unites us in a common cause. Come
spend a couple of hours with like-minded neighbors that feel
a new world is possible; a world based on human need not
corporate greed.
To view a trailer of the film follow the url below.

We have decided to move our serving day and free
Market to Saturday, as opposed to Sunday. San
Clemente Food Not Bombs, beginning in March, will
be serving in Max Berg Park at 3pm every Saturday.
Some new projects within San Clemente Food Not
Bombs have been:
providing clothes, house supplies, appliances, and anything
else donated that would be of use to the lower income families
which we work with in our community.
Books Not Bombs. BNB collects and redistrubutes reading
material, preferably progressive and historical writings,
and offers them to the community at no cost. BNB looks to
collect, among others, childrens books to be distrubuted to
Las Palmas Elememtary School, located across from the
park which SCFNB serves at.
Finally, SCFNB has begun a small collection of youth working
to send items and love into the prison industrial complex.

#7 Every Sunday evening in Huntington Beach:
"Peace vigil every Sunday night at the foot of the
Huntington Beach Pier, 7-8 pm
It's hard for most people to imagine a world at peace.
We are a very small group of people who believe that
this is indeed possible and that peace will happen once
enough people believe that it can. So we stand at the
pier every Sunday night with a sign that says:
"Visualize World Peace. It's up to you".
We also believe in non-violence both physically
and in our thoughts. We will discuss peace and
non-violence with anyone who is rational and
smile quietly at those who aren't. We hold this vigil
in a spirit of dignity and respect for all as we try
to build bridges with those who don't share our
philosophy.
Please bring a candle or just help us hold up our
banner (no signs please; we have our banner!)
