The 2006 Silver Lake Film Festival is seeking volunteers. We are looking for people to volunteer during the festival March 23-31 at the ArcLight Cinemas in Hollywood and at additional venues elsewhere in Hollywood, in Silver Lake, Echo Park and downtown. We are also seeking immediate help for projects leading up to the event. Of special note: The Silver Lake Film Festival customarily does special curated programs each year during the festival. This year, among others, we will be doing programs on the environment, called Green Films; the changing labor movement (sponsored by the AFL-CIO); Latino-American filmmakers (curated by NALIP - the National Association of Lationo Independent Producers); politically-influenced documentaries, called Reelpolitik; Asian Cinema; cutting-edge digital filmmaking, called MP4Fest; and music documentaries and concerts, called MusicFest. We are looking for volunteers to serve as filmmakersÂ’ liaisons and to help with promotional and marketing outreach for all of these programs.
