The Eyes of Babylon
A U.S. Marine's Personal Journey Through the War in Iraq Saturday, March 4, 2006, 7:30 p.m. UU Church in Anaheim, 511 S. Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, (corner of Santa Ana St.) THE EYES OF BABYLON is the story of Lance Corporal Jeff Key's personal struggle trying to reconcile his being part of a war he knows to be illegal and immoral with his profound commitment to the reasons he became a Marine. We follow Jeff from the morning of September 11, 2001, through his time in Iraq and on to his return to America to begin a life of political activism and philanthropy. Key decides that it is time to stop lying about his sexuality and goes on to use the ban on gays in the military to exit the Marine Corps, thereby avoiding being asked to take innocent life for what he feels to be corporate gain. This award winning one-man stage performance is a look inside the conscience of a man faced with near impossible decisions. A discussion will follow the performance.
