The South Central Farmers turned 14 acres of land, a gift from the mayor of Los Angeles to the community in the wake of the 1992 uprising, into what is now the largest urban farm in the nation. Three years ago, what is the the cultural park, educational center, health center, community center, social center, spiritual center, safe haven and daily sustenance for this community was sold in a backroom closed session by the very people they elected to care for their human rights.
