#1 Col. Mary Ann Wright (Diplomat who quit over Iraq)
speaking in Aliso Viejo Wednesday, Mar. 1st,
and UC Irvine Mar. 2nd
From: Jim Gibson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Col. Mary Ann Wright has an amazing story to tell.
She will be in speaking in Aliso Viejo on March 1
and UCI March 2.
A WOMAN OF COURAGE SPEAKS HER CONSCIENCE
MARY ANN WRIGHT
Career Military and former Foreign Service Officer
explains her views on Middle East Policy
With a combined regular Army/Army Reserve service time of
29 years (attaining the rank of Colonel), 16 years of Foreign
Service with the State Department (serving as Deputy Chief of
Mission/Deputy Ambassador), a Master's Degree in National
Security Affairs plus a law degree, Ms Wright has the knowledge
and experience to qualify as an expert on U.S. Middle East Policy.
Ann Wright resigned from the U.S. Foreign Service on March 19,
2003, while serving as Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy
in Mongolia. She sharply disagreed with the Bush administration's
decision to go to war in Iraq without the authorization of the UN
Security Council, the lack of effort in resolving the Israel-Palestinian
situation, the lack of policy on North Korea, and curtailment of
civil liberties in the United States.
Hear her speak in person. This is an extraordinary opportunity.

#3 A Marine's Personal Journey Through the War in
Iraq Saturday, March 4th in Anaheim
From: Duane Roberts <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
The Eyes of Babylon
A U.S. Marine's Personal Journey Through the War in
Iraq
Saturday, March 4, 2006, 7:30 p.m.
UU Church in Anaheim, 511 S. Harbor Blvd., Anaheim,
(corner of Santa Ana St.)
THE EYES OF BABYLON is the story of Lance Corporal
Jeff Key's personal struggle trying to reconcile his
being part of a war he knows to be illegal and
immoral with his profound commitment to the reasons he
became a Marine. We follow Jeff from the morning of
September 11, 2001, through his time in Iraq and on to
his return to America to begin a life of political
activism and philanthropy.
Key decides that it is time to stop lying about his
sexuality and goes on to use the ban on gays in the
military to exit the Marine Corps, thereby avoiding
being asked to take innocent life for what he feels to
be corporate gain. This award winning one-man stage
performance is a look inside the conscience
of a man faced with near impossible decisions.
A discussion will follow the performance.
For reservations call:

#7 Every Sunday evening in Huntington Beach:
"Peace vigil every Sunday night at the foot of the
Huntington Beach Pier, 7-8 pm
It's hard for most people to imagine a world at peace.
We are a very small group of people who believe that
this is indeed possible and that peace will happen once
enough people believe that it can. So we stand at the
pier every Sunday night with a sign that says:
"Visualize World Peace. It's up to you".
We also believe in non-violence both physically
and in our thoughts. We will discuss peace and
non-violence with anyone who is rational and
smile quietly at those who aren't. We hold this vigil
in a spirit of dignity and respect for all as we try
to build bridges with those who don't share our
philosophy.
Please bring a candle or just help us hold up our
banner (no signs please; we have our banner!)
