A fundraising benefit with art, food and music will be held for the
South Central Community Garden at the Avenue 50 Studio on Saturday,
April 29, from 7-10 p.m. An exhibit and sale of photographs by
Fernando Flores, Don Normark and Don Rogers will support the
struggles; paintings by Pola Lopez and Raoul De la Sota, and a floor
mandala by Linda Vallejo will also be part of this fundraising benefit.

This fundraiser is in support of keeping the gates open in order to
continue to feed low income families and promote health education.

The South Central Community Garden is located at 41st and
Alameda/Long Beach Blvd. The Garden has served the community for 14
years through the legacy of Mayor Tom Bradley. Throughout its
history it has held outreach programs in gardening techniques and
health education, and has fed low income families. For the last
three years, Angelenos, friends and organizations have been working
diligently to keep this valuable urban farm operating.

Help save the Gardens by attending this wonderful evening of art;
savor the food prepared by the women of the South Central Community
