Radical Women Activities for Immigrant Rights Friday, April 28 Banner Making Work Party 7:00-9:30 pm
Help create colorful banners, make picket signs, invent jazzy chants and do other fun projects to prepare for the huge May 1st demo. A light meal, with vegetarian option, served for a $6.50 donation. The work party is at Solidarity Hall (address below). Everyone welcome. Monday, May 1 Feminist & Labor Contingent 9:00 am for the Great American Boycott 2006 “A Day Without Immigrants” Celebrate May Day—the international workers holiday! Take the day off work or school and march with Radical Women’s rowdy contingent that calls for open borders, full labor and civil rights and civil liberties, no criminalization of immigrants, no border walls, and unconditional amnesty now. Radical Women is part of the March 25th Coalition that has called for the May 1st boycott. Take to the streets for immigrant rights! Meet at Solidarity Hall (address below) at 9:00am and we’ll travel together to the march. The march begins at 12 noon at Olympic & Broadway and ends at City Hall. Friday, May 12 A Feminist “Take” on 7:30 pm Defending Immigrant Rights >From sexual exploitation by bosses who threaten deportation, to hundreds of Juarez women murdered while no maquiladora-building corporations take responsibility—women are hardest hit by attacks on immigrants. Feminists have a lot at stake in actively building the currently exploding movement to defend immigrants. A spring buffet, with vegetarian option, served at 7:00pm for a $6.50 donation.
