Industrial Workers of the World Art Almeida Speaking on the IWW history in the Port of Los Angeles The labor movement in this port began with the IWW union, and now, it has returned with 100 years of experience. The labor history of the troqueros is rich; TUTA, WRTU, LATA, CWA, IBT, and several others. Now we have the IWW, the wobblies, a democratic union that is not afraid to support strikes. We are going to meet monthly here in this Port and nationally every year. All workers in port transportation are invited to join; troqueros, dispatchers, clerks, security guards, warehouse workers, lumpers, and any worker in marine transport. We need representatives of the workers from every trucking company to show up. Everyone knows that many of you are already organized at the company level but we need to organize the entire port, coast, and internationally! The IWW will be there for us. Please come to our historical kick-off meeting. El movimiento obrero de este puerto empezo con el sindicato IWW, y ahora ha regresado con 100 anos de experiencia.
