Arlington West: Iraq and Afghanistan War Memorial (Next to the Santa Monica Pier)
Will be on display: Sunday, July 2nd thru the 4th of July Since Feb 15, 2004, Arlington West at Santa Monica beach has been constructed every Sunday by the Los Angeles Chapter of Veterans For Peace and volunteers. The first Memorial held 540 crosses. The Memorial now displays more than 2,520 crosses, interspersed with stars and crescents to represent the many faiths. Help is always welcomed! Sunday July 2nd Arlington West will be set up all day next to the pier. All afternoon Solar Oven baked cookies (sunlight permitting) will be offered to the public. Monday July 3rd Arlington West will be set up all day next to the pier. All afternoon Solar Oven baked cookies (sunlight permitting) will be offered to the public. Candle light vigil at sunset on Sunday and Monday Tuesday Fourth of July Arlington West will be set up all day next to the pier.
