#1 Petition for Rohrabacher, Monday, October 23rd

From: "MFSO Orange County" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Dear Friend:

We, the members of Military Families Speak Out Orange County,
have created a petition to demand an apology from our congressman,
Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R) (46th Congressional District, CA),
and are asking for your support.

Rep. Rohrabacher has continually insulted us, his constituents,
and our family members in the military. We will not let this stand.

Please sign our petition and forward it to your friends. We will
be staging a protest and press conference on Monday,
October 23rd starting at 6pm in front of the Forum 1 building
at Golden West College (15744 Golden West St, Huntington
Beach CA 92647) where Rohrabacher is due to debate his
Democratic challenger, Jim Brandt. There, we will present
him with this petition, and in front of the media glare, demand
an apology for his behavior and wrongheaded Iraq war policies.
This event promises to be lively, so we encourage you all to
attend!

The petition can be found here:

Let’s Declare Peace!
www.declarationofpeace.org.

Thursday Oct 26 5:30 – 7:00 PM
Southeast corner of Edinger and Beach Blvds.

Our purpose is to bring attention to the Declaration of Peace.

We call on Congress to establish a concrete and rapid timetable
for an end to the US war in Iraq for a peace process designed
to create the conditions for security, reconstruction, and
reconciliation. This plan must include:

- Establishment of an Iraqi-led international peace process
to create a roadmap to peace and security,
- Bringing US troops home,
- Closure of the US bases in Iraq,
- Reconstruction and reconciliation in Iraq , and
- Creation of a peace dividend by diverting funding for
war to meeting human needs at home and abroad.

We have decided to move our serving day and free

Some new projects within San Clemente Food Not
Bombs have been:

providing clothes, house supplies, appliances, and anything
else donated that would be of use to the lower income families
which we work with in our community.
Books Not Bombs. BNB collects and redistrubutes reading
material, preferably progressive and historical writings,
and offers them to the community at no cost. BNB looks to
collect, among others, childrens books to be distrubuted to
Las Palmas Elememtary School, located across from the
park which SCFNB serves at.

Finally, SCFNB has begun a small collection of youth working
to send items and love into the prison industrial complex.

#7 Every Sunday evening in Huntington Beach:

"Peace vigil every Sunday night at the foot of the
Huntington Beach Pier, 7-8 pm

It's hard for most people to imagine a world at peace.
We are a very small group of people who believe that
this is indeed possible and that peace will happen once
enough people believe that it can. So we stand at the
pier every Sunday night with a sign that says:
"Visualize World Peace. It's up to you".

We also believe in non-violence both physically
and in our thoughts. We will discuss peace and
non-violence with anyone who is rational and
smile quietly at those who aren't. We hold this vigil
in a spirit of dignity and respect for all as we try
to build bridges with those who don't share our
philosophy.

Please bring a candle or just help us hold up our
banner (no signs please; we have our banner!)
