Subject: [SBProgCoalition] PDSB Web Site and John Dean events

Hi all,

Much thanks to Dean Nevins and Cat Henley who’ve
gotten our (beautiful and functional) Progressive
Democrats of Santa Barbara web site up and running at:

www.pdsb.us

Check it out and you’ll see that we have an
exciting Saturday coming up, November 11, which
includes a talk/Q&A with author John W. Dean,
former White House Counsel under Richard Nixon
and the man credited with exposing the Watergate
abuses. (The evidently don’t make ‘em like that
anymore…) Dean’s new book is “Conservatives Without Conscience”

We’ll also offering a 3-hour workshop beforehand,
“Toward 2008 – Candidates, Campaigns and Citizen
Activism,” in which we’ll be looking at what just
happened in the midterm elections (anyone have a
crystal ball?) and offering panel discussions
with experts on how you can either 1.) become a
candidate, 2.) lend your efforts to a campaign,
or 3.) engage in effective civic activism.

We’re also planning to host “Dinner with Dean,”
afterwards, details to follow, but if you’re
interested in joining us at a respectable
establishment for a tasty meal and more political
discourse, please email me at
[EMAIL PROTECTED] We’d like to start getting
a head count so please, let us know if you can join us for dinner.

So here’s the schedule:

Saturday, November 11, 2006

1:00-4:00pm – Workshop/panel discussion – “Toward
2008 – Candidates, Campaigns and Citizen Activism”
4:30-6:00pm – Author John W. Dean on “Conservatives Without Conscience”
7:00-9:00pm – Dinner with Dean

Hope you can join us for one, two, or all three
of these events. More details at the new and
improved Progressive Democrats of Santa Barbara web site, www.pdsb.us!

Thanks,

Jon
