 Patricia Isasa

At the time of her kidnapping in July of 1976 (just 4 months after the
military coup), architect Patricia Isasa was 16 years old. She was her
class delegate to the high school Student Union in the province of Santa
Fe in Argentina. She was taken by a commando group of the state police
and was “disappeared” (held clandestinely) for 3 months. Patricia was
then taken to a military barracks, where she was held prisoner without
trial or due process for more than 2 years.

Thanks to her relentless research, today 8 people are in jail and
awaiting trial, including the
only graduate of the SOA: HYPERLINK "http://www.soaw.org/"www.soaw.org
- incarcerated in Argentina and in South America.

Recently Patricia began to receive death threats, and on September 25,
2006 she became the country’s first witness
accepted into a witness protection program – by order of the president.
This protection order allows her to have 24-hour
a day guard by two police officers. She will return to Santa Fe to
testify in her case in the coming months.

Excerpts from the nationally televised documentary of Patricia’s story
(viewed by 3 million Argentines on May 1, 2006) will be screened.
