Josh has been incarcerated for longer than any journalist in American history, over 100 days. He is 24 years old. He has not been charged with a crime. He is in jail for refusing to turn over a video tape that he took of an anarchist demonstration in San Francisco a while back. His friends here in San Francisco are fighting back. They need our help to a.) Call Nancy Pelosi s office this Friday and b.) Write Pelosi letters to encourage her to put the case of Josh Wolf on her plate as Speaker of the House. She s got a lot on her plate. But if she doesn t take this on, the feds can hold him indefinitely. They ve already extended his incarceration once. They ll do it again. Some people believe that it s no accident that San Francisco and a San Francisco journalist were chosen for this attack on freedom of the press. We are the most liberal city in America, the thinking goes, and the right wing police types are making an example of us. That idea might have been written off as paranoia a few years ago. However, I think most of us are now aware that anything is possible, even probable, under this regime. Whatever the case, please read the email below.
