I am not sure how Bill Blum, Frank Dorrel and addicted to war got hooked up with this conference, but most of the other sponsors and many of the speakers are notorious right wing reactionaries and racists. Ted Gunderson was an FBI hatchetman against the liberation movements of the 60s who spins unsubstantiated theories about ruling class (he doesn't call 'em that) child molesters. The American Free Press is the successor publication to notorious anti-Jewish, pro-fascist Willis Carto's Liberty Lobby (Carto was involved in Lyndon LaRouche's transit from a cult-faction on the left into a proto-fascist organization on the right). The freedom law school and free enterprise society have long been sympathetic to right wing militia-type organizations that believe in "state citizenship" as opposed to "14th amendment citizenship" (guaranteeing freed slaves citizenship after the civil war). If you attend, proceed with caution, take everything with a grain of salt, and be very careful about either intelligence gathering or infiltration of progressive forces by reactionaries. The current issue of american free press for example, promotes convicted "historian" David Irving, who was found to have denied the realities of Hitler's genocide against Jews, as well as the racist anti-immigant Minuteman organization, among other causes. Interestingly, the link to the paper embedded in the post from Frank doesn't work -- they left an "a" out of "american" in their hyperlink. Not to be overly suspicious, but I wonder if this was an effort by the AFP and Freedom Law School to disguise their true nature from left/progressive folks who might be attracted by Bill Blum and Frank Dorrel. The fact that they added "Justice" to the title (they never used to use the term, just Freedom) leads me to believe that they are making a serious marketing attempt to the left. Please don't provide these reactionaries with political cover; and please don't discredit yourselves by association with them and their crackpot hard-right agenda.
