There was a very successful meeting held SUnday initiated by Jericho Amnesty Coalition to build a broader coalition around the case of the Black Panther 8 political prisoners and one apparent fugitive. We have an event set for Saturday, February 17 from 4-7 PM at the Southern Calif Library for Social Studies and Research, 6120 S Vermont, L.A. Prior to that there is a follow-up meeting of the Coalition on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2 PM at 333 S Alameda (corner Third St) in or near suite 323 (on the thrid floor). The coalition is proceeding on the basis of a principal of self-determination and of course a commitment to free these and all political prisoners. Many significant groups were present from Black/African, Mexicano/indigenous, Asian and anti-imperialist European communities, and more are welcome to get involved on the basis of the same principals. More events are already planned in East Los Angeles, South LA, possibly Long Beach, etc. ABCF has an event planned for SCL in March focusing on Daniel McGowan and Jaan Laaman (anti-apartheid pp-pow from the Ohio 7/UFF) that will also include info on this case. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- LAAMN: Los Angeles Alternative Media Network --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Digest: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive1: <http://www.egroups.com/messages/laamn> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive2: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yahoo!
