Los Angeles, CAThe American Friends Service Committee (Quaker) is continuing
its long-term campaign to bring an end to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan
(dates and locations see right).
On March 19th, AFSC will lead an act of nonviolent civil disobedience to shut
down the Armed Forces Recruitment Station in East Los Angeles. Students from
nearby Roosevelt High School will join AFSC, Catholic Workers and others in
demonstrating against the war and military recruitment and offer information on
career and education alternatives to any person attempting to visit the
recruitment center. A group of individuals will form a human barrier at the
door.
