Marx also said

"The Communists fight for the attainment of the immediate aims, for the
enforcement of the momentary interests of the
      working class...."
The firing of Bratton is certainly no storming of Bastille walls. Yet on every
front -poitical, social, economic and cultural- the working class
instinctively recoils against oppression. And at every moment, with every
movement, as our class flexes and strengthens its muscles and sinew serious
dedicated revolutionaries, to the best of their abilities, hava a duty and
obligation to be there in support of these minor insurrections. The battle
over Bratton is no exception. There is only one further instruction that those
truly dedicated to change must ought abide by and that is in showing the
connection between this or that individual struggle and its link to the class
question.

"In short, the Communists everywhere support every revolutionary movement
against the existing social and political order
of things. In all these movements, they bring to the front, as the leading
question in each, the property question, no matter what
its degree of development at the time."

  MN responds:

I don't disagree that many other changes are necessary, but an
authentic exposure of Bratton -- an international player in the
militarization and privatization of police, and their use as an
occupying army to enforce gentrification -- is timely and necessary
in LA, especially since the neutered, gatekeeper left (aka ACLU, et
al) have lined themselves up in his corner. Check out the research
into Bratton's latin America background in the Southern California
Library's recent commemorative journal. The need for massive
institutional change (not to mention revolution) do not obviate the
need to expose and hold accountable the criminals and enemies of
humanity who run the current system.--MN
