Dear Friends and Supporters of the Chicano Student
Heritage Club de El Sereno,
On behalf of the Chicano Student Heritage Club de El
Sereno Middle School, I invite you to a
very special perfomance by the youth of El Sereno. In
conjunction with Teatro ChUSMA,
several dozen youth (from El Sereno MS and Academia
Semillas del Pueblo) have been actively engaged
this summer in a unique theatre workshop designed to
encourage the utilization of
theatre techniques as one form of self and community
empowerment.
This youth driven performance is a culmination of
three weeks of hard work. The stories
are written and performed by youth, thus making this a
unique event that will highlight all the positive
attributes that make our community a wonderful place
to live and work.
I once again encourage you to make an effort to attend
as you will not be disappointed.
I have attached the flyer for your convenience, and
hope to see you there this weekend.
