Walk for Hope

The Walk for Hope is a reminder of the things that matter
most in life. The purpose of the entire event is to spread more
love in the world. The entire 5 kilometer route (3 miles) is
decorated with hundreds of inspiring quotes, all of them
hand-made. You can also expect to find interactive activities
along the walk route.
What's more is that it is entirely free with free snacks,
free T-shirt, and live entertainment. The Walk for Hope
is our gift to you.
The Walk for Hope can optionally be used as an opportunity
to raise funds for your favorite charity. Just list the name of
the charity when you register and follow the instructions.
*The walk is wheelchair accessible. Dogs are welcome on
the walk.
Be the Cause will not retain any of the proceeds raised from
this event. Be the Cause is a volunteer-run organization and
the walk is paid for entirely by its volunteers.

to a workshop featuring Keynote Speaker, Dr. Don Will,
Director of the Peace Studies Program at Chapman University
Dr. Will is the Delp-Wilkinson Professor of Peace Studies
and a member of the Department of Political Science at
Chapman University. His research emphasis includes the
comparative study of conflict and social change.
Dr. Will played an active role in the struggle for a free
South Africa and has been a member of coalitions in
search of a just peace in the Middle East. Dr. Will has
traveled in Africa, Central America, the Caribbean, and
Europe.
Following the presentation, there will be a time for
extensive dialogue with workshop attendees.

We are very excited to tell you about the 2007 Walk to
Stop Executions, which starts on September 15th. The
Walk will begin at the San Diego County Court House and
will cover more than 800 miles, ending at the State Capitol
in Sacramento on November 30th. The Walk will stop in 15
counties to encourage the district attorneys in each
location not to seek the death penalty in any case. The
walk will also unite local activists and draw attention to
the issue of the death penalty along the way.
Here is how you can support the Walk to Stop Executions:
1. Attend a rally in any of the 15 counties along the walk.

will hold their weekly vigil at a new location. These
public peace vigils now in their fifth year, are silent
because words cannot adequately express the
tragedies caused by wars and hatred. Women are
dressed in black as a symbol of sorrow for all
victims of war, and for the destruction of nature
and the fabric of life.
Our message, though silent, is strong and well
received.The new venue is on the SW corner of Moulton
Parkway and Lake Forest Drive, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
All women are encouraged to join the vigil. Women

Huntington Beach Pier, 7-8 pm
It's hard for most people to imagine a world at peace.
We are a very small group of people who believe that
this is indeed possible and that peace will happen once
enough people believe that it can. So we stand at the
pier every Sunday night with a sign that says:
"Visualize World Peace. It's up to you".
We also believe in non-violence both physically
and in our thoughts. We will discuss peace and
non-violence with anyone who is rational and
smile quietly at those who aren't. We hold this vigil
in a spirit of dignity and respect for all as we try
to build bridges with those who don't share our
philosophy.
