Invites you and your friends to a discussion:
Impeachment, Is It A Priority For
The Progressive Movement?
* Will the impeachment battle add to unity or division among progressive
forces?
* How will the impeachment movement address immediate needs such as
stopping the war, winning universal health care, combating racism and
government corruption?
* What effect will organizing around impeachment have on current
investigations of the Judicial and other Congressional committees, and on the
protections of our Constitution?
* Is the impeachment movement an “educational/mobilizing movement,”
valuable even if it does not achieve its goal?
Peter Thottam, Executive Director for the L.A. National Impeachment Center,
will kick off the discussion with a presentation. Also presenting will be the
following activists: Ahjamu Makalani, social activist and involved in
progressive Democratic Party activities; John Parker, International Action
Center; Marian Gordon, Committee of Correspondence and Coalition for World
Peace (organizations for identification only)
When: Sunday, October 7, 2:00 p.m.
Where: Home of Marian Gordon, 3910 MELROSE AVE., in the yard if the weather
is good, otherwise on the second floor (stairs only);
(located near the Vermont off-ramp of the 101 Freeway, two blocks north of the
