From: "Lovell, Jarret" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

November 2, 2007 @ 7pm (Potluck @ 6pm)

Iraq Veterans Against the War:
Stories & Strategies to End the War

Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) was founded in
July 2004 at the annual convention of Veterans for Peace
(VFP) in Boston to give a voice to the large number of
active duty service people and veterans who are against
this war, but are under various pressures to remain silent.

Today, IVAW members are in 43 states, Washington,
D.C., Canada, and on numerous bases overseas, including
Iraq. IVAW currently has 20 chapters around the country -
including here in the Los Angeles/Orange County
community.

Join local activists in Iraq Veterans Against the War
for an evening of stories, strategizing, a slide presentation,
and an important discussion on how the Orange County
Peace community can work in solidarity with Iraq Veterans
Against the War.

Program starts at 7pm.
Join us for a Potluck at 6pm.

Unitarian Universalist Church of Anaheim

NINE WEEKLY ACTIONS FOR PEACE ARE STILL
GOING ON. (Last I heard) SEE BELOW.

*********************************************
#1 Every Wednesday 4:00 to 5:00 PM in
      Laguna Woods:

Beginning Wednesday, July 11th. Women in Black
will hold their weekly vigil at a new location. These
public peace vigils now in their fifth year, are silent
because words cannot adequately express the
tragedies caused by wars and hatred. Women are
dressed in black as a symbol of sorrow for all
victims of war, and for the destruction of nature
and the fabric of life.

Our message, though silent, is strong and well
received. The new venue is on the SW corner of Moulton
Parkway and Lake Forest Drive, from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.

All women are encouraged to join the vigil. Women
in Black is a worldwide peace network.

#8 Every Sunday evening in Huntington Beach:

"Peace vigil every Sunday night at the foot of the
Huntington Beach Pier, 7-8 pm

It's hard for most people to imagine a world at peace.
We are a very small group of people who believe that
this is indeed possible and that peace will happen once
enough people believe that it can. So we stand at the
pier every Sunday night with a sign that says:
"Visualize World Peace. It's up to you".

We also believe in non-violence both physically
and in our thoughts. We will discuss peace and
non-violence with anyone who is rational and
smile q
