Freedom Socialist Party January Meeting Los Angeles California Monday, January 7, 2008, 7:30 p.m. Picket line Report: Support Striking Screenwriters Two months ago, Writers Guild members shut down their computers, grabbed their picket signs and started walking the line. Industry bosses maintain the issues are too complex and high tech for the average person to understand. But the strike is about the same old classic issues—the right to decent wages and through their unions, control over what they produce. We all have a stake in a union victory in this strike. Bring your ideas on how to build a strong presence if the Writers Guild pickets the January 13 Golden Globes award show. Hearty winter supper served at 7:00 p.m. for a $7.00 donation. (Low income and work exchanges available.) The meeting is at Solidarity Hall, 2170 W. Washington Blvd., L.A. (Off the 10 freeway, bus line #68.) Auspices: Freedom Socialist Party.
