June 25, 2008 For immediate release Join Al-Awda at the LA Social Forum this Saturday June 28, 2008. We will be conducting a workshop entitled "US Union and Government Economic Support of Israel."
The workshop will begin with a discussion of the dependence of the Zionist state on US economic and other support for carrying out its ongoing genocidal campaign against Palestine and its people. Links and parallels will be drawn in a way that transcend the obvious, theory, or politics. We will then step into a discussion of strategies in the development of the campaign to stop the US government from it's illegal and unconditional economic and military support of Israel. We will also discuss the development of a campaign to empower rank and file union members to join the struggle to withdraw investment of their pension funds in "Israel Bonds".
