Be sure to check out the laobserved site...just in is a post that Dawson's Bookstore on Larchmont --LA's oldest bookstore--will go to appointments only on July 1st. Rents are also skyrocketing in general on Larchmont, due to the sale of business buildings to a developer who wants to double rents. --- On Thu, 6/26/08, satene cat <***> wrote: From: satene cat <***> Subject: [Poema7] Ray Bradbury Rails vs. Threatened Closure of Acres of Books To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Thursday, June 26, 2008, 4:47 PM www.laobserved. com www.LBReport. com Both the laobserved and Long Beach Report sites have coverage today of Ray Bradbury passionately railing against the threatened closure of Acres of Books indy bookseller in Long Beach, CA. Apparently, the store is located in a building which has been bought by the City of Long Beach and is slated for redevelopment. ### ------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- LAAMN: Los Angeles Alternative Media Network --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Digest: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post: <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive1: <http://www.egroups.com/messages/laamn> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive2: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[EMAIL PROTECTED]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yahoo!
