Obama Coming to OC tomorrow!
Barack Obama is coming to Orange County tomorrow
Sunday July 13th!
The “Obama For America Campaign”, in partnership
with the Democratic Party of Orange County, is hosting
a fundraising event in Newport Beach.
This is very short notice, but the OC Peace Coalition
believes that it is important for OC peace activists to be
there in order to let him know that he cannot take our
votes for granted, and also that we are unhappy with
several of his recent statements and actions, such as:
- his recent vote to support FISA to let Bush give retroactive
immunity to the telecom companies ahead of our security and
our liberty
- his statement to refine his promise to quickly remove U.S.
troops from the war
- his status-quo foreign policy regarding Afghanistan and
Iran
-his promise to expand Bush's faith-based programs, a
split with Democratic view
- his team of advisors with questionable corporate ties
These are not the kind of changes we want!
Location: Balboa Bay Club (across from the Ferrari Dealership)
1221 W. Coast Hwy # 145, Newport Beach CA 92663
(*at intersection of Dover/Bayshore)
Date & Time: Sunday, July 13th, come anytime between
1:30 - 4:00 pm (so we can be seen by the donors who will
be coming and going to 2 separate events).
(*Come early and plan to park across the street at Taco Bell
(1400 W. Coast Hwy). You will need to purchase a
food item.)
Event Schedule:
2:00 PM (VIP Reception for donors contributing
$28,500.00 where they will have an opportunity to
meet Barack personally, and have your picture
taken with him by a professional photographer)
3:30 PM (General Reception for donors contributing
$2,300.00)
Alternate Bus Transportation to Event Location: You can
also catch the Route 55 OCTA Bus anywhere along 17th St.
which will take you to the intersection of Dover/PCH.
This bus runs every 20 minutes. For further bus
