Real opposition to the war will be excluded from the forum. It's our obligation to bring the true wishes of the people in the U.S. to the streets and demand an end to U.S. wars and militarism. McCain and Obama differ in their proposals for when and how the United States should begin a major troop withdrawal from Iraq, and under what conditions they would enter into negotiations with the government of Iran. On just about every other issue related to U.S. policy in the Middle East, the presumptive presidential candidates of the Republican and Democratic parties are in total agreement. Both share an unquestioning dedication to U.S. domination of that strategic and oil-rich region. Both candidates want to continue the occupation of Iraq; escalate the war on Afghanistan; sanction and threaten Iran; ignore the Palestinian people's struggle for freedom; and want to expand the size and reach of the U.S. military machine. Come to this important anti-war protest in Orange County. No pro-war candidate from either war party should get a free pass.
