**TIME SENSITIVE ANNOUNCEMENT**

You are invited to apply for the next cycle of the
LDIRs in Health Program!

For over 16 years, Leadership Development in Interethnic Relations (LDIR)
has supported social/economic justice work through leadership development
training and inter-cultural collaborations. We are looking for a diverse
group of 30 adults (ages 18 and over) who are affected by and/or working on
a variety of community health issues in the Los Angeles area who wish to
gain greater personal awareness, movement building skills, and an
opportunity to launch a sustainable project that addresses needs within one
of the three health strands:

▫ Food (Nutrition Education, Water, Food Quality and Access)
▫ Housing (Affordable Housing, Tenants Rights, Homelessness)
▫ Peace & Safety (Domestic Violence, Child Sexual Abuse, Community
Policing, Mental and Emotional Health Issues)

As you can see, we view health in a very broad way and are looking to gather
together a diverse participant pool from many personal and professional
backgrounds. We hope that people with any type of community involvement
will consider applying to the program - we believe that most any community
or justice issue (HIV, housing, food, green space, education, arts, prisons,
parenting, violence prevention) has an important health connection!

APPLICATION DUE DATE: RIGHT NOW!

Please see the attached electronic version of the Application, Program
Description, and Curriculum Schedule. Our next LDIRs in Health cycle will
begin on October 11, 2008.

*If anyone interested has difficulty meeting this deadline, please call us
as soon as possible so that we can make alternate arrangements.
