You're giving 1/14 th of a vote to each of your candidates. It makes your vote about as weak as it could be. The software will distribute the vote but it is a losing proposition in an STV election. This was confirmed by Fred Blair, our STV expert. Why it was put on the ballot, as a suggestion, ignorance or bad intent, is a question we may get answered after the election. Do this instead: Encourage voters to select Summer, Margie and Lamont as their first three rankings, so that they get re-elected, then rank the remaining 11 candidates on our slate as they decide or you suggest. If you want to make up a filled out ballot that shows you're recommendation on how to vote, that's a great idea to attach to an email. You can also just list your preferences in the body of the email (easiest for the voter). The CTS KPFK only agreed to favor Summer, Margie and Lamont, so they'd get re-elected. Therefore so we shouldn't indicate any further preference on the website. Email all your contacts and encourage them to forward to their lists, encouraging KPFK listeners to find their ballots and vote for our slate. We're fishing for votes and in this case we can go spear fishing or cast nets, anyway that works. Email at least two or three times, spread out over September. Also, print out flyers and attend public events. To remind you again, you need 174 votes to get on the board. At some point someone will get 174 and the next guy only got 173.
