Subject: Update from Chicago about FBI Raids and Grand Jury on Oct. 5th

Important Update from the Committee To Stop FBI Repression

Chicago - The Committee Against Political Repression in Chicago is joining the
national day of action on Tuesday, October 5th, in response to last week's FBI
raids on the homes of anti-war and international solidarity activists. The
goal is to put an end to the Grand Jury process and the government's attack on
anti-war activists across the country.

Supporters should look for breaking news on stopfbi.net as the legal
developments may evolve rapidly.

On September 24, the FBI raided seven Chicago and Minneapolis homes of
well-known anti-war and solidarity activists. The FBI subpoenaed 14 activists
in Illinois, Minnesota and Michigan to testify at a grand jury.

According to the FBI, the goal of the raids was to show material support for
terrorism charges. It is outrageous! The US government is trying to put
people in jail for anti-war and international solidarity activism. These people
have done nothing wrong. They have given money to no one; their freedom is at
stake.

A national day of action is Tuesday, Oct. 5th, with protests and vigils held at
government buildings around the country.

The Committee Against Political Repression is an ad-hoc group of clergy, labor
activists, peace activists, students and solidarity workers and supporters in
Chicago formed in response to this attack on the anti-war and solidarity
movements. For more information, email [email protected].
