Public Forum on Palestine Guest Speaker Haneen Zoabi Sunday, Oct. 31, 3pm-5pm La Mirada Holiday Inn 14299 Firestone Boulevard La Mirada, California
The Palestinian American Women's Association of Southern California Proudly presents an afternoon with Palestinian leader, Haneen Zoabi. On May 31, 2010, Haneen Zoabi witnessed the massacres that took place on the Mavi Marmara, the lead ship in a Flotilla organized by the Free Gaza Movement to carry humanitarian aid through the Israeli blockade to the people of Gaza. Israeli forces raided and seized the Gaza-bound ships killing nine activists and leaving over a hundred wounded. Ms. Zoabi witnessed some of them to bleed to death. Since the incident, she has received death threats, including a Facebook website calling for her execution. Ms. Zoabi established the first media course in 1948-occupied Palestine schools. She also headed I'laam Media Center for Arab Palestinians in Israel, an organization dedicated to exposing Israeli media bias.
