Councilman Herb Wesson has put forward a motion that William Grant Still Arts Center be taken from the RFP (Request for Proposal) list. Councilman Tom LaBone seconded the motion. It is a fantastic development that the Center's Councilmen and the Chairman of the the Arts, Parks, Health & Aging committee have moved that our Center be separated from the process whereby the various facilities are forced into partnerships with non-profit organizations. It's not over of course. The next meeting of Arts, Parks, etc will be Tuesday morning ROOM 1010, CITY HALL - 8:30 AM 200 NORTH SPRING STREET, LOS ANGELES, CA 90012 We want to make a good showing of support for Councilman Wesson who has taken this step. It would be fantastic if some of you are available to attend the meeting. Downtown. Early morning. Parking. I know, I know. Not a pleasant scenario, but so far the results of our efforts have been well worth it. We are attempting to get a van to carpool from the Center, but we won't know about that until Monday. Of course, others could arrange to carpool for the cause. That's the news for the night. Think about it. Let us know if you can make it. Or just show up on the inspired spur of the moment. Thanks.
