Progressives, as in action on Social Issues, like the folks in the SF Bay and other areas, not the self proclaimed Progressives in Wash DC whose actions result in Corporate Welfare at the expense of the majority of the citizens of the USA.
The last election, as it turns out, was a war between Corporate Democrats and Corporate Republicans, and we have seen from the moment of Obama and McCain taking a break from campaigning in '08, to strong arm their fellow Senators into revering their representation of the People of this Nation, to supporting the Corporations at any cost (like their seats in the last election), to pass the 700 BILLION Dollar Bail Out for Mega Banks and Wall Street, which in June of 1010, less then 2 years after it had passed, had reached 250 TRILLION DOLLARS. The War is still costing us 2 Billion Dollars A DAY, and our representatives want to cut programs _we have paid into_, and use that money for things the Corporations want, like more of that oh so profitable war, and high risk loans. They want to be entitled to our entitlements without having ever paid for them, and we are entitled as this money was taken out of our pay checks to cover these items. 6 Minutes of Norman Solomon at the link below.
