To celebrate the birthdays of two local leaders, 
the Southern California Library is issuing commemorative postal stamps.

February 14 marks the birthdays of Charlotta Bass 
and Michael Zinzun. Help us celebrate their lives 
and continue their legacies by sharing these 
stamps with others. These first class stamps can 
be used for all U.S. postal mail, and are 
available only through SCL for $20 for a sheet of 
20. To order, fill out the form below.

Michael Zinzun
February 14, 1949 – July 9, 2006

Purchasing, and using, these stamps is an easy 
way to increase awareness of two local figures 
that should be more widely known, and encourage 
the kind of leadership and grassroots work that 
Bass and Zinzun are examples of, and that we want 
to see in all our communities.

Q: Are the SCL stamps actual postage stamps?
A: These stamps are authentic U.S. postage and 
are made by Endicia, an approved licensed vendor of the U.S. Postal Service.

Q: How much do the stamps cost?
A: You can order a sheet of 20 stamps for $20. 
The stamps are in the denomination for standard, 
first-class cards and letters (44 cents).

Q: Why are the stamps so expensive?
A: The price represents the cost of making custom 
stamps. SCL is selling them basically at cost to 
offer something to our members and to increase awareness of our collections.

Q: What size are the stamps?
A: The stamps measure 1 7/16" x 2 1/4".

Q: How long does it take before I receive my order?
A: You should receive your order within about two 
weeks from the time the order is placed.
