03 de marzo 2011-The Government of China has decided to take the Libyan
crisis to demonstrate to its citizens and the world that is a power with all
the letters.

Not only has made a major deployment to evacuate its nationals from the
North African country, but has moved a ship of war and military aircraft to
emphasize its willingness to defend their interests, in this case oil.

More than 32,000 Chinese had left the North African country yesterday, of
which 9,000 are back in China, 21,000 were in a third country and 2,100 were
on their way to a third country, according to the Ministry of Foreign
Affairs.

Beijing said the rescue work in areas of eastern and midwestern Libya were
virtually completed, while in the south were 3,000 people would be evacuated
by military aircraft or foreign airlines.

The Defense Ministry on Monday dispatched four aircraft IL-76 Russian-made,
bound for the city of Sabah, in central Libya. Es la primera vez que la
fuerza aérea ha sido movilizada para rescatar a ciudadanos chinos en el
extranjero. It is the first time the air force has been mobilized to rescue
Chinese citizens abroad.

The decision is sent to the Mediterranean after the last weekend of the
frigate Xuzhou, who was performing some control piracy in the Gulf of Aden,
off the coast of Somalia. Their mission: to protect the ships are carrying
Chinese citizens to other Mediterranean countries. La fragata Xuzhou, que
está dotada de misiles, atravesó el canal de Suez el domingo y se prevé que
hoy llegue frente a la costa libia. The frigate Xuzhou, which is equipped
with missiles, crossed the Suez Canal on Sunday and is expected to arrive
today off the Libyan coast.

It is also the first time a Chinese warship involved in the evacuation of
civilians in a humanitarian crisis, which emphasizes the growing capacity of
China's navy to operate away from its waters and Beijing's interest to
protect its citizens abroad.

The rescue efforts have been widely covered by Chinese media, which,
however, have largely obscured the reasons that led to the populations of
Muslim countries to rise: the democratic demands.
