Today EMERGENCY PROTEST to STOP the BOMBING of LIBYA NOW!
Monday March 21st, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Westwood Federal Building Corner of Veteran & Wilshire Will March to French Consulate Next Door HANDS OFF LIBYA - JOBS NOT WAR! The imperialist states with the greatest economic stakes in North Africa and the Middle East - the U.S., Britain and France - have once again used the United Nations Security Council as a political cover to endorse their naked aggression against a developing country struggling to defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity. On March 17, these three pushed through a resolution giving them the supposed authority to openly wage war against Libya by bombing it, all under the guise of humanitarian concern for civilians and in spite of opposition from 52 countries in the African Union. So, with this dangerous blessing by the UN they proceeded to launch yet another war with the most deadly consequences for civilians and particularly children - as is the case in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan and everywhere else the U.S. chooses to unilaterally bomb for domination of resources. Please join us in this emergency demonstration at the Westwood Federal building at Wilshire & Veteran where we will march over to the French Consulate next door on Wilshire to be in solidarity with the people of North Africa who are all threatened by this attack.
