ADC Demands the Release of U.S. Citizen
Washington, DC | www.adc.org | July 2, 2011 -- The American-Arab
Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) demands that Greek authorities immediately
release John Klusmire, Captain of The Audacity of Hope and a U.S. citizen.
Reports indicate that Mr. Klusmire was arrested for leaving the mainland
without permission and putting passengers in danger. He will be appearing
before Greek
prosecuters on Tuesday.
The Audacity of Hope which carries 36 American passengers, four crew members
and several journalists is traveling with humanitarian aid to Gaza by sea.
ADC demands immediate action from the United States Department of State to
intervene and protect U.S. citizens as this is their duty. ADC will continue to
monitor the situation.
