The Southern California Immigration Coalition calls on the LA community to join
this protest to publicly denounce the Barack Obama/Democratic Party
Administration and the Department of Homeland Security/Immigration and Customs
Enforcement (ICE) for their continued attacks against migrant and immigrant
communities. The SCIC will continue to emphatically denounce both the
Republican AND Democratic party for their relentless efforts to separate our
families and terrorize the millions of people who continue to be criminalized
in this country because of the unjust immigration laws that are implemented and
supported by both of those parties. "Secure Communities" is one of the
fundamental bi-partisan policies that is terrorizing our communities and in the
last week the Obama administration made its fascist like announcement that
cities, counties and states that had already decided to opt-out of this policy
were not going to be allowed to do so. They essentially said that "Secure
Communities" is not optional and it will be imposed upon our communities,
period. As people in the movement, we CANNOT allow this! We MUST take action!!

ICE, under the direct command of the current Democratic administration, has
detained and deported more (im)migrants than under any other administration is
US history. This is the same President and Democratic Party who in 2008
promised us Immigration Reform in their first year in office. Today, the
Democrats in general and President Obama in particular, are asking the
(Im)migrant community to continue voting for them in the upcoming elections. In
response to the Democratic Party's petition for votes from the migrant
community, the Southern California Immigration Coalition has responded with our
own campaign that is sending a clear message directly at President Obama;
Legalization NOW or no re-election!

The SCIC will not speak to the ICE/DHS officials inside at their hearing. It is
obvious that they do not care about the separation of our families or the pain
that they are causing. Our message is going to the people of the community. The
only way that we can end these policies and that we can defend ourselves in our
communities from ICE is to organize ourselves and to never depend on the
Democratic Party. If they do not keep their promises of immigration reform,
don't even bother asking our communities to vote for you again in the future!

Southern CA Immigration Coalition Demands
STOP THE RAIDS/DEPORTATIONS NOW!!
FULL LEGALIZATION NOW!!
NO BRACERO/GUEST WORKER PROGRAM!!
WORKERS RIGHTS TO ORGANIZE!!
