is the longest running women's peace organization in US history, and the

She has represented the 35th District of California for over 20 years.

She was the founding member and Chair of the "Out of Iraq" Congressional
Caucus.

She was a leader in the movement to end Apartheid.

She opposed the 2004 Haitian coup.

She leads Congressional efforts to cancel the debts of poor countries as
well as efforts to mitigate foreclosures.
