This tribute was organized by some social movements and Leftists, the event was on Saturday in CaracasÂ’ 23 de Enero neighborhood, which has been one of the mostly highly organize radical areas for decades.
The right wing government of Colombia forgot to mention with the backing of the US military and government, that the conflict in modern times has existed since approximately 1964 between the Colombian government and peasant guerrillas and other left wing groups but is historically rooted in the conflict known as "La Violencia" that was triggered by the 1948 assassination of populist political leader Jorge Eliecer Gaitan. Colombia is still till this day is in conflict and one of the unsafest places for trade union organizers in the world. Many social groups and leftists have been upset with Venezuelan government over the arrest and deportation of FARC members to Colombia.
