Update The laptop is toast, The desktop is sort of working, had to pay Geek Squad $350 and a new hardrive for $130 to get it to work. Can't use a program for laying out the paper that I like could if someone can help with the computer.
EARLY WARNING!!! The May edition of ChangeLinks is at risk. Both Editor John Johnson's desktop and laptop computers have crashed. And he is temporarily unable to access email. This will be the third month running with really bad computer issues. Low donations have put the project at continuing risk for a much longer time than that. As always, we solicit your help whether via money contributions or services (writing, distribution, fundraising, computer repair, etc.). We will still do our best to put out an issue for May but the ongoing problems are both tiring and demoralizing for staff and, at some point without your help, it really just won't happen. Not everyone has access to the internet and sometimes a print version of our work just makes more sense even if you do. Also, online censorship is a growing concern. Our community needs ChangeLinks to locate and inform new participants, make them into organizers and encourage activists to "cross lines" and work with others who share their concerns. The newspaper is strong on love and commitment but weak at the moment in material and cash reserves. We are about as inexpensive as a newspaper can be--- a very good deal for the community. Please come forward and show us that you care about the work in whichever ways you are best able! (Even a "thank you" will help our morale if that's all you can do.)
