Add to "... gains made by the Civil Rights movement ..." [see below] one
victory (especially under attack in Tucson, Arizona and other places at school
district and / or college level):  ethnic studies programs.

Condemning ultraright groups (and especially psychologically-disturbed cases
who join those groups and then kill / beat many members of "minority" groups)
does not even require politics as "left" as being liberal, let alone radical.
Moreover, urging peace and brotherhood and getting along despite differences is
a message shared by moderates -- well satirized in song by Tom Lehrer's
"National Brotherhood Week" ("It's National Brotherhood Week; National
Be-Kind-To-Another-hood Week ... Aren't you glad it doesn't last all year?!")
-- Disney's animina-tronic "It's A Small World, After All", which is quite
"poly-cultural" with an explicit purpose of positive representations of all
cultures (or at least those that Disney staff knew about at the time) and has
been around for decades.
The cutting edge re whether one really opposes racism is not denouncing
hate-driven fanatics, but "mainstream" policymakers who provide lip-service re
equality through speaking and writing about nebulous niceties, but whether one
protests policies designed for the opposite purpose, especially beatings /
killings by police (whose victims are disproportionally "minority" youth) and
immigrant-bashing laws / policies / etc., and whether one defends gains made by
the Civil Rights movement (especially affirmative action).
With the above in mind, amen to Jamie Rae's idea/s re Occupy (or subgroup of
same) initiating antiracist action/s -- and additional (forthcoming)
suggestions re involving allies-in-the-cause.

I would be interested in exploring more how the OC is connected to such white
supremasist groups. Not to speak for all OTH or OLA but I think we would be
interested in the beginings of occupy racist action type of group. These past
few articles have been extremly disturbing but also very educational. I would
be interested in supporting groups that have poly-cultural events planned but
also be interested in learning more about racist groups that are operating so
close to home. I feel that an antiracist action from Occupy would really bring
a great spark, direction, and dialogue the occupy movement is lacking.

How about CAPITALISM as the source of racism (as opposed to "white supremacy

racist whites think that those of non-white races -- or, in the case of
Japanese nationalists, non-native-Japanese) are "inferior" -- and avoids
mentioning the progress the Cuban Revolution has made in uprooting racial
discrimination)?

Wade Page spent several years in Orange County playing in white power
bands. I think the aquifer that is feeding racists in Colorado,
California, Wisconsin and elsewhere is the deep, poisoned well of
white supremacy and settler colonialism.
