Today - Saturday, September 1st, 2012 Is the Final "Day of Record" to Become a Voting Member of KPFK in Order to be Able to Participate in the Upcoming Local Station Board Elections. You Can Contribute Online at: http://kpfk.org/pledgesupport.html The deadline for submitting a nominating petition & supporting materials such as candidate statements to run for the local station board has been extended to September 13th across the network. You can register on-line & get a link to download the necessary materials at: http://elections.pacifica.org/candstmt/cn_add_form.php I am supporting the Grassroots Community Radio Coalition, with which I ran for the LSB two years ago, and I hope you will do the same. Pacifica urgently needs to reengage with a new generation of grassroots community activists and listeners, along with paid and unpaid staff, to carry forward with its mission, bring the many-to-many spirit of social media to its broadcast operations, internet presence and journalistic and cultural efforts. We need greater transparency and accountability in finances, governance, management and all our operations. We need to uphold peace, human rights, environmental sustainability, labor rights, gender equity, and the solidarity of all poor, colonized, and working people, if we want a future for the station, the foundation, and the planet.
