Today, California voters are facing a number of critical issues on their ballot.
Heres Public Citizens take on the ballot propositions that relate to our work:
Proposition 32 NO
A partisan attack on labor unions misleadingly disguised as campaign finance
reform, Proposition 32 would cut off union funding for political activities
while leaving political spending by corporations and millionaires virtually
untouched. Learn more.
Proposition 33 NO
An insurance-industry backed effort, Proposition 33 would strip consumer
protections, enable insurance companies to impose fees and penalties that are
currently illegal, and ultimately increase the number of uninsured drivers on
the road. Learn more.
Proposition 37 YES
Passage of this initiative will mean consumers will finally be given critical
information about the food they buy, as Proposition 37 would require food
manufacturers to clearly label all genetically modified foods. Learn more.
Proposition 39 YES
An existing corporate tax loophole encourages companies to create jobs outside
of California; Proposition 39 closes the loophole and creates incentives for
clean energy and education jobs inside the Golden State. Learn more.
Print out this guide to the ballot propositions and take it with you to the
polls, or check it on your smart phone.
Thanks for all you do.
Sincerely,
Robert Weissman
President, Public Citizen
