DEAR FRIENDS & FELLOW ACTIVISTS:

YOU ARE CORDIALLY INVITED TO JOIN ME FOR CAKE ON MY DECEMBER 11 BIRTHDAY AT 2PM
AS I BREAK MY VERY LONG (24-WEEK) "SAVE CHAIN REACTION" SUPPORT FAST AT
PAUL CONRAD'S ICONIC LANDMARKED PEACE SCULPTURE.
MY FAST ENDS, BUT OUR CAMPAIGN TO RESTORE "CHAIN REACTION" CONTINUES GROWING!

PEACE ACTIVIST JERRY RUBIN TO HOLD
"SAVE CHAIN REACTION" PUBLIC FAST-BREAKING & CAKE-CUTTING CEREMONY
                                        ON HIS DECEMBER 11 BIRTHDAY
AT SANTA MONICA'S ICONIC LANDMARKED PUBLIC ART PEACE SCULPTURE

What: Public fast-breaking and cake-cutting.

When: Tuesday, December 11, 2012 2:00 PM
on Santa Monica peace activist Jerry Rubin's 69th birthday.

Where: Paul Conrad's iconic landmarked "Chain Reaction"
public art peace sculpture in the Santa Monica Civic Center,
located on the 1800 block of Main Street, just north of Pico Blvd.
and the Civic Auditorium.

Why: To join with Rubin as he gives a birthday gift to himself
by breaking his 24-week liquid-only "Save Chain Reaction"
support fast that he began on June 26. Although Rubin will be
breaking his fast, he says he will be continuing his efforts, and
urging others to continue their efforts, calling for restoration of
the 26-foot-tall nuclear mushroom cloud endangered peace monument,
that has been standing in the Civic Center since 1991.

Paul Conrad, who designed and created "Chain Reaction", was a
3-time Pulitzer Prize winning political cartoonist. His unique and
creative sculpture, made of giant chain links, was gifted to the
City of Santa Monica through a $250,000 humanitarian peace donation.
Mr. Conrad passed away at the age of 86 on September 4, 2010 of
natural causes at his home in Rancho Palos Verdes with his family by
his side. His inscription at the base of "Chain Reaction" reads:
"This is a statement of peace. May it never become an epitaph."

Politely, but passionately, implore all City Council members to provide more

and Santa Monica's full support to work with the Conrad family to save and
restore
"Chain Reaction" in the Civic Center as the important and creative public art
City landmark
that it is. (one email or phone call will be delivered to ALL seven Council
members.)
