This Thursday, less than three weeks after the recent bombardment of Gaza, the
Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) will gather at the Hyatt Regency
Century Plaza in Los Angeles to host a fundraiser to benefit the Israeli army.
Last year, this fundraiser brought in over $26 million to aid the Israeli army,
which has perpetrated countless war crimes and violations of international law.
At the same time, Americans continue to face a crippling economic deficit. Join
a demonstration telling FIDF that Americans will not fund a foreign army and
their war crimes!

Following the victorious effort to persuade Wonder in hand, a diverse coalition
of local and national organizations has now announced a protest outside the
event itself:

WHERE: Outside the Hyatt Century Plaza, 2025 Ave. of the Stars, L.A. 90067
WHO: Confirmed Speakers include Shakeel Syed, Steering Committee member of the
US Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation, Miko Peled, son of Israeli general
Matti Peled and author of The General's Son, Journey of an Israeli in
Palestine, and Huda Bayaa of the Palestine Children's Relief Fund and Occupy
Whittier (listed for idenification purposes only). Jim Lafferty, executive
director of the National Lawyers Guild of Los Angeles, will emcee the event.
WHAT: Press Conference 4:30 PM, followed by a mock funeral, protest, and rally,
as gala attendees arrive.
The mock funeral procession will include a child’s
casket and 170 placards worn by participants, bearing the names and ages of the
victims of the Israeli army's recent “Operation Pillar of Defense” bombardment
of Gaza.
