** Greetings, Hope all are doing well and in good spirits. Some of you may know that I am a board member for Los Angeles Community Action Network, a grassroots organization in Skid Row. As a homeless activist, L.A. CAN continues to fight for the residents in Skid Row. It is because of their work that homeless people can step away from their belongings without the fear of having it be thrown away by police. I remember attending a meeting in L.A. CAN in May and Mary, a 50sh year old woman was sharing with us that the police had once again thrown away all her possessions. She was crying and couldn't understand why the police would do that to people in her situation. She had everything in that shopping cart. With L.A. CAN's work, the U.S. Court of Appeals 9th Circuit upheld an injunction that stated that the City of L.A. cannot seize and destroy the property of homeless people. This is one of the several victories that L.A. CAN had this year. I ask you to please help me by considering donating to L.A. CAN this year in any amount that you can. Every dollar matters.
