The new issue of "Turning the Tide: Journal of Anti-Racist Action, Research &
Education," Volume 26 Number 1, January-March 2013 will be out tomorrow, and a
mailing party to get 1500+ copies out to prison subscribers is scheduled for
Thursday, December 27 and Friday, Dec. 29, from noon-6:00 PM (or until
completion) at the Peace Center, 8124 West Third St. near Crescent Heights.
People are invited to participate in getting copies into the mail to prisoners
around CA and the US, or to pick up copies to distribute locally.

The issue features a major piece on the Inter-Communal Solidarity Committee by
Shango Abiola of the Oakland chapter of the Black Riders Liberation Party (new
generation Black Panthers), as well as coverage of three of the ICSC programs,
Hood Health, Break the Lock prisoner solidarity, and the George Jackson Freedom
school, as well as other news regarding the BRLP resistance to police
harassment
and repression.

News from the Anti-Racist Action network includes a report on the duping of
"Golden Dawn," a Greek neo-fascist group trying to build a base in the U.S.,
and
plans for a mobilization to Las Vegas for the upcoming trial of several nazi
boneheads for the ambush murder of two members of ARA over a decade ago. Mumia
Abi-Jamal contributed a call for support of "Turning the Tide," and the issue
also has information on the new film about Mumia, "Long Distance
Revolutionary,"
opening February 1 in NY and shortly thereafter in L.A.

A special report looks at the growth of neo-nazi nationalism in contemporary
Poland. Comedian John Vargas contributes a rant about "Ironic Racism," and Jan
Tucker compares the media frenzy over the mass murder in Sandy Hook, CT with
the
blind eye turned towards the day-to-day violence, mayhem, poverty and
oppression
in the CT state capital, Hartford. There's also information about the upcoming
25th anniversary party and fundraiser for Turning the Tide on February 9,
PART's
Perspective on contradictions among the people, and more, including an appeal
for Elder Freeman, one of the early members of the Black Panther Party for
Self-Defense in Los Angeles, who is now battling cancer.

Subscriptions to Turning the Tide are $16 a year, currently quarterly but
hoping
to increase the frequency of publication - paypal
