In this day and age, we should already be aware of those who have gone
before us, and what they did for humanity, instead of waiting for someone
else to do it for them. Yet, that is not in the curriculum we are fed.

Please read these 4 quotes, and the link following Sophie Scholl,
especially if you have no idea who she was, and what she and those she
worked with, did agasint all odds.

Scott

"The path of least resistance and least trouble is a mental rut already
made. It requires troublesome work to undertake the alternation of old
beliefs. Self-conceit often regards it as a sign of weakness to admit that
a belief to which we have once committed ourselves is wrong. We get so
identified with an idea that it is literally a "pet" notion and we rise to
its defense and stop our eyes and ears to anything different" -
John Dewey

"Those with no sides and no causes. Those who won't take measure of their
own strength, for fear of antagonizing their own weakness. Those who don't
like to make waves-or enemies. Those for whom freedom, honour, truth, and
principles are only literature. Those who live small, mate small, die
small. It's the reductionist approach to life: if you keep it small,
you'll keep it under control.

If you don't make any noise, the bogeyman won't find you. But it's all an
illusion, because they die too, those people who roll up their spirits
into tiny little balls so as to be safe. Safe?! From what? Life is always
on the edge of death; narrow streets lead to the same place as wide
avenues, and a little candle burns itself out just like a flaming torch
does. I choose my own way to burn." - Sophie Scholl

“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can
change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has.”
Margaret Mead
