Here is a non-corrected but extremely clear (the wording is very straightforward) of a mainstream Argentine press article explaining the importance of tomorrow's verdict in the Mariano Ferreyra murder trial (thousands will be mobilized all day outside the Comodoro Py courthouse), involving responsibilities of the State, Big Railroads and the Union bureaucracy, and the (successful) struggle for unionization of thousands of outsourced railway workers.
Published by Infonews | Un mundo, muchas voces http://www.infonews.com/2013/04/18/politica-70960-un-asesinato-que-es-mucho-mas-que-eso.php A murder that is much more than that By: Ana Vainman Tomorrow we will know the verdict for the murder of Mariano Ferreyra. That death was not an isolated event. It is a crime that reveals a complex criminal network in which job insecurity are mixed, union impunity, police inaction and political complicity. There are 17 defendants for the death of the student and the wounding of three other Labor Party members who accompanied the claim of outsourced workers of the former Rock line. For this attack, carried out the October 20, 2010, are charged the former head of the Railway Union (UF) José Pedraza and his second in the guild, Juan Carlos "Gallego" Fernández-as instigators, and eight other members of the union are charged as perpetrators of crime. During the trial, which began last August 6, seven policemen were also federal courts have colluded with the UF to ambush the protesters. Mariano was only 23 years. Like many other children of the middle class, this kid-high, gangly, shy, decided to be different from other teenagers of his age and embrace militancy. From an early age went to put the body into what he thought and therefore put it, that here the bullet hit the mob assassin who fired Railway Union and died. He died fighting, marching alongside fellow. He died of a gunshot wound that entered his abdomen and ripped his vital organs. Not only Mariano was the victim of gang bullets integrated by Cristian Favale hooligan. Elsa Rodriguez, Nelson Aguirre and Ariel Pintos were also wounded. The crime had such an impact that it related to the death of former President Nestor Kirchner. The former president died a week after the murder of Ferreyra as a result of coronary heart disease. The very President Cristina Fernandez said the bullet that killed Marian had also touched the heart of her husband. He said that the death of this young activist who fought for the dignity of the work of their peers had affected him much. And for good reason. Mariano's murder revealed a concatenation of irregularities and illegal complicity converged in the criminal organization that claimed the life of the militant. The first finding is revealed that the outsourcing. Outsourcing a service (or outsourcing) is widespread in the business community worldwide that is to hire an outside firm to perform certain service. The classic examples are the providers of cleaning, security or human resources. In principle, under the law, this is not prohibited. However, workers may face worse working conditions and at least lower wages. In most companies outsourced, no collective agreement respecting the company of origin, resulting in a higher profit for the company, because these workers have a lower cost outsourced. Example: If an oil entrepreneur hires a construction company for maintenance of plant facilities, are not paid wages or conditions respecting the agreement tankers (one of the most beneficial of the country), but the part in the construction. Also, if an employee is dismissed, it is more difficult to make judgment to the company of origin and prove that the companies are jointly liable. The problem is that the current legislation is quite permissive with respect to outsourcing and that is why there have been several projects to establish clearer boundaries between what is right and what is wrong in this matter. But besides these modalities extended worldwide entrepreneur, what happened in the case of outsourced that hired former Railroad Rock unveiled the ad hoc creation of companies or cooperatives working to enrich entrepreneurs who defrauded the state through charged subsidies. But more surprising is that José Pedraza was also a participant in these "businesses" with which fraud was made to the State. Judge Wilma López tested the relationship between cooperative work and Belgrano Mercosur Union-where working loads which demonstrated on Mariano's death, and the former head of the UF. In the documentation of the first company Pedraza figure's wife, Graciela Coria, as director of class B and C shares, his sister, Silvia Coria, as treasurer, and his nephew, Maximilian Pedraza, as an employee. Graciela Coria also figure as the owner of the offices in which the cooperative work. That's why we were able to establish the place Pedraza mobile instigating the murder of Ferreyra: suppress the outsourced claims. Repress, scare and intimidate allowed to keep workers outside the union structure, earning up to a third less-counter to what anyone may involve pursuing a union leader and block the entry of a mass of opposition votes to UF driving that could jeopardize his tenure as head of the guild, a position he holds Pedraza decades. A Pedraza their fellow CGT hand released him. No one came to ask for his release, no one proclaimed his innocence. Not so when the judge Norberto Oyarbide ordered the arrest of the owner of the guild of rural laborers, Geronimo Venegas, in the context of the case by the drug mafia. The leaders then issued a sought in his defense. But Pedraza, nothing. A renowned leader of the labor union-unified-recognized then, "Pedraza Venegas is not ..." Following the murder of Mariano about 1,500 contract workers were incorporated into the floor of the railway and cooperatives ceased to exist. But beyond the criminal liabilities, which are those that were put into play at trial that ends tomorrow, there are also political responsibilities. If you look at the subsidy policy, the actions of the outsourced and defrauding the state, pointing guns against former Secretaries of Transportation Juan Pablo Schiavi and Ricardo Jaime, who are not afraid to take sign concessions to business friends and girarles millions and millions of dollars in subsidies wasted and diverted. The government's attitude towards the murder was of repudiation, but the then Cabinet Chief Anibal Fernandez said the day of the murder, and ratified it later-that the police action was "impeccable." However, there are seven policemen accused in the trial. Meanwhile, Labor Minister Carlos spoke to the rail Taken three months after the crime and offered fraternal advice-in a very typical official, who was once the Railway Union lawyer-to "make laburo association" with the outsourced. Finally the vice of the Labor Ministry, Naomi Rial, was made available to the accused at times when you were searching his home and the union. Tomorrow will be the turn of the Oral Criminal Court No. 21 of Comodoro Py give its verdict on the crime. We will have to wait until then to see if there will be justice for the crime of Mariano Ferreyra. ------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------------------------------------- LAAMN: Los Angeles Alternative Media Network --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Unsubscribe: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Subscribe: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Digest: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Help: <mailto:[email protected]?subject=laamn> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Post: <mailto:[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive1: <http://www.egroups.com/messages/laamn> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archive2: <http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]> --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Yahoo!
